Special Words From Our Founder

Hello everyone and welcome to Soldiers of the Cross website. Come with me as we take a little journey of my entry into the world. From the time I was a child, Satan tried to kill me. Born with odds against me, I was declared epileptic at an early age. At ages 3, 4, and 5 I experienced many seizures, sometimes grand mal seizures and it was just the grace of God that kept me alive. I was just a baby, new in the world and certainly not equipped to fight the devil, but thank God for a praying mom. It’s in the infant stages that Satan tries to abort our dreams and sometimes our very life, but I thank God that through Jesus Christ we have the victory. Victory over sickness, victory over death and victory over every device that Satan will use to abort what God has place within you. I am thoroughly convinced that the faith and prayers of my praying mom (Mary Alice Rice) saved me, for the prayers of the righteous do avail much. Many days and nights mom would rush me to the hospital and I can still remember the doctors cutting my hair and placing wires in my head. I remember the doctors saying I could never have children and the doctors declaring that I would be slightly retarded with little hope for a prosperous future.

All the odds were stacked against me, but God was my equalizer and he is still my equalizer today! He tipped the scales in my favor and he took everything that Satan meant for bad and he made it good. In many ways, my life reminds me of Joseph. His brother’s tried to kill him just as Satan tried to kill me, but in Genesis Chapter 50 verses 19 and 20 Joseph spoke to his brothers and said “fear not, for am I in the place of God, you thought evil against me, but God meant it unto good to bring to pass this day to save much people.” And so it is with my life, if Satan had been able to kill me, many souls would have been lost, there would be no Soldiers of the Cross and there would be no Evangelist Vaughn, but as my sister Pastor Shinal would say “Thanks be to God who give us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ”! I am happy to say that I have had no seizures since age 6 and shall never have a seizure again, for God says “I am the Lord that healeth thee” I am so glad that God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 1 Corinthians 1:27 I was weak, but God made me strong.

Yes, I serve a mighty God, he is my El Shaddai! So as you browse our website, remember it is not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit says the Lord. It is my deepest desire that everything on this website will point you to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and if you are already born again it is my prayer that this website will enrich your walk with God. To God Be The Glory! He has done great things and greater things are yet to come!
